Iceland

Iceland has become the new hot and popular spot recently.  In deciding this year’s family vacation we asked the kids: “Where should we go?” And not surprisingly they said, “Iceland.” With just over 300,000 people in the country, they host more than 2 million visitors each year.  Many people visit Iceland as ports of call from a cruise ship, there are organized tours and also private tours.  We chose to see the country with a Read more…

Exploring the Serengeti

After a great flight on KLM, with excellent service, we landed in Nairobi to begin our adventure. Our tour was booked through Sky Safari and Elewana Collection – it was, in one word, AMAZING!           We were picked up by a driver from Hemingways Hotel. Hemingways is a beautiful hotel, great size room and a wonderful staff. The GM Simon took great care of us! The next morning he had us Read more…

The Taj Campton Place

When staying in San Francisco it’s always a bonus if your hotel is situated in a flat area, and the Taj Campton Place, a luxury 4 Diamond boutique hotel is in a perfect location.  This 110 room hotel is diagonally across the street from Union Square Park, and the surrounding streets for shopping and dining have limited recline. Just 3 blocks away is the Dragons Gate entry into China Town and with a couple of blocks Read more…

Club Med Ixtapa Pacific, Mexico

Recently I traveled to Club Med Ixtapa Pacific on a FAM for three nights. The all-inclusive resort overlooks the Pacific Ocean and it’s about a three-hour flight from LAX, near a small town called Zihuatenejo. It’s such a nice feeling to arrive at Club Med and know everything is included – the food, drinks, activities, fitness, childcare, and entertainment! We arrived at Zihuatenejo Int’l Airport on Saturday around 3:30pm and after clearing customs, it was Read more…

Hawaii: Hualalai and Kapalua

While those on the East Coast consider Hawaii a long trip and tend to go to the Caribbean and Europe ahead of Hawaii, us West Coasters look at Hawaii differently….it’s a good long weekend, or a much needed break in between other vacations.  There really is something special about Hawaii, it just has that feel and allure that you can’t find anywhere else in the world.  It’s sort of the “Exotic” America that needs no Read more…

Dubai and Africa

Our journey started on Emirates Airlines, one of the best Business class products around.  After a “short” 16-hour flight we arrived in Dubai at 1am.  We took the 10pm out of LAX so we could have a full day at work and not lose a day in Dubai.  The Meet & Greet service in Dubai is very reasonably priced and it is a great treat when you arrive after 16 hours to have your name Read more…

A Weekend at the Ritz Carlton, Denver

Earlier in 2016, I had the pleasure of being able to spend two nights at the Ritz-Carlton in Denver, Colorado.  Right in the heart of downtown Denver, there is so much to do!  Located right next to 18th Street Mall, there are a myriad of shops and restaurants to explore.  It is also walking distance to Coors Stadium (where the Rockies play), as well as a short drive from Bronco’s Stadium.  It’s only about 25 Read more…

Natural Habitat’s Polar Bear Experience

We met our group and our guide, Drew, Friday night before our Saturday morning departure to Churchill.  Drew introduced himself to us, told us of his “bear” passion (both Polar Bears and Grizzly Bears) and we all introduced ourselves.  Drew told us about what we should expect in Churchill and on the Tundra, went over the area we would be enjoying for the next 5 days and gave us a great introduction to Polar bears. Tuscany

Recently, I traveled to Tuscany to meet with the Rosewood Hotels & Resorts Executive and Sales team.  I left LAX on KLM non-stop to Amsterdam, then connecting to Florence.  The KLM Business class was somewhat common as to what you would find on some International Business class seats these days.  There was nothing exceptional about the experience. The seats and entertainment system were a bit old and the food was just OK, but the connecting Read more…

The Hotel Del Coronado, San Diego

Del Coronado , San Diego I had an opportunity to stay at “The Del” as they say; and it is a true destination. The founders, Elisha Babcock, Jr. and Hampton Story, had a vision to put San Diego on the map back in the 1880s. Their goal when they purchased this beautiful untouched island; was for it to become “the talk of the western world” Built in the Victorian era, you can feel the essence Read more…
