Recently I returned from an amazing trip to O’ahu with…
Earlier in 2016, I had the pleasure of being able to spend two nights at the Ritz-Carlton in Denver, Colorado. Right in the heart of downtown Denver, there is so much to do! Located right next to 18th Street Mall, there are a myriad of shops and restaurants to explore. It is also walking distance to Coors Stadium (where the Rockies play), as well as a short drive from Bronco’s Stadium. It’s only about 25 minutes from Denver International Airport, as well as located close by to the light-rail that goes from Denver International Airport straight to downtown for less than $10/person.
The minute my friend and I got there, staff was greeting us with a smile and made us feel so welcomed. They truly seemed to enjoy their jobs and made me feel well-taken care of.
Check-in was a breeze, and they knew my travel partner and I were celebrating her engagement. They congratulated us, and sent us up with our room-keys to our club-level room. When we got in there, we were pleasantly surprised to see a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries waiting for us. What a treat! When our bags arrived, we were given a brief tour of our room which included a safe and complimentary coffee/coffee maker.
The room was spacious, and the beds and pillows were some of the softest I have ever felt. The bathroom came with a huge tub and a large shower with a water-fall head. I truly felt like I was in the lap of luxury.

That evening, my friend and I were hungry and decided to eat in the Club Lounge. The club offers complimentary food and beverages, everything from juice to cocktails, to soda and champagne. Truly something for everyone.
The Club staff is more than accommodating. Whatever we wanted, the concierges were at the ready to help us out. Dinner is less of a sit-down situation in the club, and has many appetizers to nibble on instead. Everything was DELICIOUS. Plates included salads, polenta with steak, and short ribs. Dessert was almost even more impressive: while they had the simpler dishes like cookies and ice cream, there were also puddings with gold flakes decorated on top.
The next morning, I ordered room service with my credit from the Elway’s restaurant downstairs. When booking with Plaza Travel, you receive a $50 room credit per room, per day, and it was a nice way to have a full meal rather than munching on appetizers from the club. I ordered a breakfast burrito with pork chili and a mimosa. Though they said it might take up to 30 minutes, it was brought up in an even timelier manner. The burrito was delicious and a perfect way to start the day!
I also had a spa credit, another benefit of booking with Plaza, and used it to receive a massage. The spa has its own level and is located right next to the fitness center. The spa was quiet and tranquil and absolutely stunning. Everyone is provided a robe and slippers, as well as a locker. It is recommended that you arrive maybe 20 minutes early so you have time to soak in the hot tub to loosen the muscles. Your masseuse will come and get you when they are ready to take you back. The massage comes with aromatherapy, and the masseuse was incredible. I only wish it lasted longer! One of the best parts was I forgot to bring cash in with me to the massage room, but you are able to tack on tip when you check out for the service.
Denver has so much to see and do, and the Ritz is a perfect hub to explore the city (or beyond, if you can!). The best part about staying in a city in Colorado is you can spend the day exploring the mountains should you chose, but come back to a room that is quiet and more than comfortable. I would highly recommend anyone staying at the Ritz in Denver – superb staff, delicious food, and a good night’s sleep creates the perfect recipe for an amazing vacation!
