Latest on LAX

What’s happening at LAX?   LAX is the3rd busiest airport in the United States with 80.9 million passengers projected to pass through LAX in 2016. With that being said, LAX traffic is very congested and it’s only going to get worse. Luckily, new campaigns are being developed such as “Come Early and Come Hungry” as more of LA’s top chefs open up restaurants in the terminals. There will also be same day boarding passes, which Read more…

Getting to Know Germany

Hello! This is my first travel report as a travel agent at Plaza! We flew from NYC to Dusseldorf, then to Stuttgart. I paid a little more for the upgrade and it was well worth it for the extra legroom. The flight was only 7 hours long, and seemed to go very quickly! We sleepily arrived early morning in Stuttgart. After a little confusion with the German language train lingo, we successfully made it into Read more…

Jammin’ in Japan

I recently received the opportunity to attend a Signature Educational FAM to Japan with G-Adventures. Initially, when I found out I was accepted, I was very excited to experience Japan first-hand. I did admittedly get nervous about the thought of traveling so far away with a group of strangers in a country I didn’t know much about. I did my research on the places we would be visiting and decided to trust that G-Adventures would Read more…

A Day on the Beach: Spending a Day at Casa Dorada

Recently, I went on a Princess Cruise sailing along the Mexican Riviera, making stops in Puerta Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas.  Instead of doing a shore excursion or staying around the port, I was given an opportunity to spend a day at Casa Dorada, a beachfront resort in Cabo San Lucas.  For those traveling on a cruise ship as I was, you can see the hotel from where the ship docks off the coast. Shutters on the Beach – Melody Vincent

I went to Shutters on the Beach located on the Beach in Santa Monica over Emmy’s Weekend.  Shutters is only one of two properties right on the beach. Because it was Emmy’s weekend, the hotel was not able to upgrade me during my stay; however, I was very satisfied with my room and the service I received. Although the room was not ready when we arrived (I purposely arrived early), the hotel stored the luggage Read more…

The hotel sits upon the very top of Nob Hill , with Grace Cathedral and Huntington Park across the street.  The cable car Read more…

Adventures in the Outback – Carey Jones

I recently had the exciting opportunity to attend my first FAM trip to Australia hosted by the Australian Tourism board.  We flew into Sydney with Virgin and were transferred by Instyle Limousines to The Grounds for breakfast, coffee and a chance to get to know each other a little better. The Grounds is a fantastic place to eat with an eclectic group of businesses in revitalized warehouses. They even have a little area with farm Read more…

Exploring India with Signature

I’ve always wanted to visit India, but had a few reservations about going.  I, like most, have heard only the stories of poverty and filth, the care you need to take when eating and drinking, everyone getting sick and so many other things.  Yet, very few ever share how wonderful the country and people are, and how it’s one very special place. When I had the opportunity to visit India as part of Read more…

Dubai Getaway

On my recent trip to India, Signature had arranged air travel rates for us on Emirates, and 2 days in Dubai.  Emirates is one of the best carriers to get to the Middle East, and a great way to connect to India and Africa.  Emirates has one A380 flight out of LAX daily, soon to be two daily flights.  That’s over 1,000 people a day that can travel on Emirates. I’ve had the privilege of Read more…
